Understanding the Aeroponics System

aeroponic

A high tech version of the hydroponic garden, these systems use very little (if any) growing medium. Roots actually hang in the air and are kept moist with misting of nutrient solution. Misting happens on a routine basis every few minutes, as air rapidly dries out the roots.

Choose from two types of aeroponic systems—a timer-controlled system that uses a nutrient pump on a short cycle and a constantly running system that does not require a timer.

Anaerobic bacteria can contaminate this type of system quickly. Veteran gardeners have the experience necessary to operate an aeroponic system, but beginners are best to choose another type.
